Product Design
We can take an product from idea to delivered product or solution. This can include design, analysis (structural, fluid & motion) and contract manufacturing using trusted companies.
Having worked in the fast-paced motorsport world, Niall has on many occasions taken a concept through design to final manufactured components in under 24 hours.
CAD Design Services
Torq Design provide part time or project based CAD design consultancy or resources to help you with your requirements.

Our native CAD system is PTC Creo but we have experience in other systems such as Siemens NX, Dassault Systems Catia and Solidworks.
Reverse Engineering and 3D Scanning
Using a selection of tools – both software and physical we can create accurate digital CAD models of existing components. This may be to replicate them, design different versions or design mating components.
We can use our 3D scanner and export as a raw point cloud/mesh file or use the data and reverse engineer to create proper CAD geometry.
Using a Faro point probe CMM arm we can collect high accuracy (+/- 0.02mm) geometry. Perfect for parts with holes on multiple planes such as an engine block.
Composite Layup Design
We can create 2D DXF files from 3D CAD ready to be cut on CNC drag knife cutters.
To accompany the DXF files we can create layup manuals.
Mould Design
We can take your part designs and design moulds to manufacture them. This may include recommendations to part design to reduce mould/manufacturing cost.
We can design plastic injection moulds for components as small as a coin to as large as a lawnmower.
Using a selction of materials, we can design composite moulds to achieve the correct cost, finish or tool life.
